Gabbro is a non-playable character in Final Fantasy XIV. He is a cartoonist who makes works inspired by the battles in the Arcadion.

History

Gabbro showed interest in making works based on the victories of the Warrior of Light, a rookie who became champion of the light-heavyweight division without the use of a regulator and then defeated Wicked Thunder of the heavyweight division who had returned from disappearance only to challenge the Warrior of Light. After hearing of their battles within the Arcadion, he decides to exaggerate them to grip his readers from start to finish, intending to publish them in a book titled The Chronicles of the Unstoppable Upstart. The Warrior returned to Gabbro to recount their stories of the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions after defeating the Howling Blade and the Lindwurm, respectively, embellishing the encounters of those tiers as well to put them into his book.

Personality

Gabbro, much like the wandering minstrel who also serves as the unlock point for other high-end content in the game, is eager to hear of the Warrior of Light's achievements in the Arcadion. Like the minstrel, he highly imaginative and is also prone to putting his embellishments into "what-if" scenarios in which their opponents were much stronger than they originally were, which are presented as the Savage mode encounters in the game.

Gameplay

Gabbro serves as the unlock point for the AAC Light-heavyweight, AAC Cruiserweight, and AAC Heavyweight Savage tiers, provided players have cleared the entirety of their respective Normal mode equivalents.
