Soaring Flurry is a synergy skill in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, used by Tifa Lockhart with either Cloud Strife or Red XIII. It is a default skill for her, learnable in her folio. The skill performs a jumping attack with Tifa and her partner, after which she is airborne. The skill is a quick means of getting Tifa into aerial combat without consuming ATB.

In the ability's animation, Tifa jumps onto her partner supporting her, then performs a flurry of roundhouse kicks upward in the air.

An alternative to the ability, Heavenly Ascent, exists with other party members.

Obtained

Soaring Flurry is one of two abilities, along with Heavenly Ascent, obtained by unlocking the Leaping Strikes skill core on Tifa's folio. It is available at party level 1 and costs 5 SP.

Use

Soaring Flurry is used as a quick way to launch Tifa into the air, targeting the closest airborne enemy in the process. The effect of the skill is the same regardless of whether she performs this with Cloud or Red XIII; if choosing between them, players should simply pick whoever would not be disrupted by pulling them right next to Tifa.

In Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Tifa has an expansive list of aerial versions of her abilities, including Focused Strike and her Unbridled Strength and Unfettered Fury abilities. This makes Tifa a great threat from the air despite being a melee ranged attacker. Her Divekick and Reverse Gale attacks will both land, allowing her to finish an aerial combo with these moves.

Most of the time, Soaring Flurry is a great means of launching Tifa airborne to catch flying enemies, after which her aerial attacks are strong against them. Launching Tifa airborne can also be a means of evading ground attacks if necessary.
