United Refocus is a ubiquitous synergy ability in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, available for every party member. It grants both party members an additional ATB bar, meaning ATB gauges are quicker to build and to consume, allowing them to pull off abilities much more quickly. United Refocus is available for every party member, but with different combinations. These different combinations are unlocked through different skill cores on each party member's folio.
United Refocus has a similar effect as the refocus in the original Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Combinations
Though all party members obtain the ability, there are different combinations of partners. The synergy ability is also unlocked at different party member's folios: for example, Cloud's United Refocus with Red XIII is unlocked on his folio, while his United Refocus with Barret is unlocked on Barret's folio. None of Red XIII's versions of United Refocus are on his own folio, they are all on the other party members'.

Mechanics
United Refocus consumes four synergy gauges per party member in its first use, and five in subsequent uses.
United Refocus splits the the ATB bars of both party members to 3 segments rather than 2. It does not change their maximum ATB, meaning that each gauge will cost less ATB, and it will be quicker to fill a single gauge. The effect is active for around 2 minutes.
Use
United Refocus will enable party members to use their abilities cheaper and more quickly. This is effective on all party members regardless of their role, as it will make them faster in battle. For example, those using Magic often will benefit from being able to build ATB more quickly and cast spells faster, while those simply using their attacks from regular weapon abilities will benefit from being quicker in battle.
United Refocus can be particularly effective for party members whose strengths are in building quickly and use abilities rapidly. In particular, Tifa and Yuffie both rely on consuming ATB quickly to perform their attacks. Both also have an ability, in Focused Strike and Brumal Form, that serves as a means of evading attacks, meaning they greatly benefit from having an ATB charge available. United Refocus pairs well with Tifa's Unfettered Fury where she can already charge her ATB bar especially fast by animation-canceling.
Another strength for United Refocus is party members with abilities who consume multiple ATB charges. This includes Barret, Red XIII, and Yuffie. Many of Barret's abilities, such as Maximum Fury, consume all current ATB charges, meaning a third level of this ability is only possible when under United Refocus. In Yuffie's case, her Storm's Fury requires three ATB charges, meaning it can only be used during United Refocus.
United Refocus in combination with materia that also increases ATB gauges throughout battle. These include 
ATB Stagger Materia, ATB Assist Materia, Skill Master Materia, and 
ATB Boost Materia. United Refocus is also good when an ally has 
Synergy Materia that makes them respond to the player's action with a free spell.
