Physick is an Arcanist Arcanist, Summoner Summoner, and Scholar Scholar spell from Final Fantasy XIV that restores HP to a single target. It is the baseline healing spell for Scholars.

Use

Scholar version

Physick restores HP to a single target with no additional effects, providing MP efficient but unimpressive healing. At lower levels it provides the bulk of a Scholar's healing, but quickly falls off as they acquire more abilities that are either more powerful or provide useful secondary effects, in particular Adloquium Adloquium. At high levels Physick should only be used in rare occasions, such as if the target is already under the effect of Galvanize Galvanize, or in situations where the Scholar needs to preserve mana. Physick's 1.5 second cast time is also significantly shorter than the 2.5 second global cooldown (GCD), granting a short window in which to use an off global cooldown (oGCD) ability between spell casts, such as Excogitation Excogitation.

Arcanist/Summoner version

The Arcanist/Summoner version of Physick scales with Mind rather than Intelligence, their primary attribute, and once Summoners reach level 50 their equipment will stop providing Mind bonuses. Without these bonuses, the healing provided by Physick is pitiful compared to player HP pools. As such Physick is only useful to sub-level 50 Arcanists and Summoners with equipment that still provides Mind bonuses, allowing them to act as emergency backup healers.

Old PvP version

Physick was available only to Scholars in PvP. Physick played a more prominent role with the limited tools available in PvP, and was notable for having 0 MP cost. In addition, it charged the player's Faerie Gauge by 10 whenever it was used in combat. Adloquium Adloquium had the same potency and cast time while providing an additional HP shield, but costed 1000 MP. As such, if your target already has Galvanize or MP is a concern, the 0 MP Physick should be used instead.
