The Zwill Crossblade (ゾーリンシェイプ, Zōrin Sheipu?, lit. Solin Shape), also called the Zwill Straightblade, Zwillblade, or Zorlin Shape, is a recurring weapon in the Final Fantasy series. It is usually among the stronger daggers and is associated with the Wind element or the Sleep status ailment.

Description

The Zwill Crossblade is Locke's ultimate weapon in the GBA and 2014 ports. A Wind-elemental dagger that can randomly casts Sleep when attacking.

It can be won in the Dragons' Den from the Gold Dragon, or by betting the Oborozuki in the Coliseum. It has an attack power of 220, gives +3 Strength and Stamina, +7 Speed, +30% Evasion, +20% Magic Evasion, and enables the Runic command (even if Celes does not natively equip it).

Final Fantasy IX

The Zorlin Shape is a dagger for Zidane. It teaches the Flee command. It has Attack power of 42 and it can be bought at Esto Gaza (after Desert Palace), in Daguerreo (before going through the Shimmering Island), and Bran Bal Mogshop, for 6,000 gil.

Final Fantasy XII

The Zwill Crossblade is a dagger affiliated with the Wind element. It has Attack power of 73, and is the second fastest weapon after Danjuro to use.

In the original PlayStation 2 version, Zwill Crossblade can be bought for 15,000 gil in Balfonheim and drops from Vampyrs in the Lhusu Mines. It may also be bought for 13,800 gil in the bazaar by selling Wind Crystal x9, Malboro Flower x7, and Windslicer Pinion x5. It can be equipped after unlocking the Daggers 5 license for 40 LP.

In the Zodiac versions, it now provides 87 Attack, 10 Evade, 21 CT, 12% combo rate, is Wind-elemental, and requires the Daggers 6 license for 80 LP. It can be found as a treasure in Lhusu Mines (Site 11), Cerobi Steppe (North Liavell Hills), dropped by Vampyr (1% chance), stolen from Deathclaw (3% chance) and Overlord (uncommon) in Trial Mode Stage 72, and from the bazaar for 7,500 gil after selling Windslicer Pinion x5, Malboro Flower x7, and Wind Crystal x9. It can be equipped by the Shikari.

Final Fantasy XIV

The Augmented Zwill Crossblades are Viper weapons purchaseable at tomestone vendors in Old Sharlayan or Radz-at-Han for 600 Allagan Tomestones of Poetics. They can be augmented into the Exquisite Zwill Crossblades at Radz-at-Han using an Elevated Ester purchased using Aloalo Manuscripts obtained from completing Another Aloalo Island (Savage), Corvosi Brass from The Merchant's Tale (Advanced), or Corvosi Manuscripts from Another Merchant's Tale.

Final Fantasy XV

Daggers can be equipped by Noctis and Ignis. Zwill Crossblades are the best daggers with a base attack of 345. May be obtained by completing the Legendary Weapons questline for Randolph in Lestallum.

The zwill straightblade (also known as Zorlin Shape) is the strongest knife and attempts to inflict Sleep to the targets it strikes. It has the attack power of 12 with weapon evasion of 10%. It can be rarely poached from a plague horror, caught with Sticky Fingers from level 95+ enemy ninjas, and obtained via Melee.

Description

The Zorlin Shape is a mid-powered dagger that provides +38 Attack, +1 Speed, and +1 Evade, but does not teach any abilities. It is obtained as a random reward for completing a mission, or stolen from a Thief during Mission #9: Magic Wood.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift

The Zwillblade is a mid-powered dagger that provides +41 Attack, +2 Evasion, and +1 Speed, and teaches the ability Sten Needle to Rangers for 150 AP.

Final Fantasy Type-0

Zwillblades are daggers for Rem. They provide 54 Attack Power and double EXP. In the PSP version, they can be bought from SPP Post after unlocking a ticket on the Square Enix Members site for 20000 SPP or by exchanging for 5 tickets on the Square Enix Members site. They sell for 10000 gil.

In the HD version, they can be bought after landing 300 Killsight strikes with Rem for 5000 SPP and sell for 2500 gil.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King

Zwill Crossblade is a level 70 dagger that provides +58 Attack and is bought for 3,284 gil.

Zorlin Shape is a high-ranked dagger found in Castle Avalon. It has 83 attack and 20 critical rate, deals wind damage, and provides Speed +3 to the wearer. Knives can be equipped by Jobless, Thief, Red Mage, Black Mage, Summoner, Bard, Memorist, Ranger, Dancer, Ninja, and Magus jobs.

Dissidia Final Fantasy (2008)

The Zwill Crossblade is a level 99 dagger that fills the EX Gauge by 30% at the start of the battle and raises Attack by 66. It can be obtained from the shop by trading 31,370 gil, an Air Knife, and Maduin's Fang x5.

Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy

The Zwill Crossblade is a level 100 dagger. It increases ATK +66, DEF +1, and fills the player's EX bar by +20% at the start of a battle.

Zwill Crossblade (IX) is a 5★ Dagger for Zidane that enables access to the ability Way of the Thief. It provides 115 HP, 55 DEF, 124-184 iBRV, 1926-2616 mBRV, 625-850 ATK, and adds 15-30 CP.

It has the trait Inflict Sleep +3 and is made with Dagger Schema x2, Omnipotent Lamina x1, Earthdrake Fang x6, and 3579 gil.

Etymology

The start of its name, (ゾーリン, Zōrin?), derives from "Solingen" (ゾーリンゲン, Zōringen?). Solingen, also known as the "City of Blades", is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It has long been renowned for the manufacturing of fine swords, knives, scissors and razors.

"Zwill" might be based on Zwilling, the German word for twin. It may also be based on the name of the company Zwilling J. A. Henckels, a knife manufacturer based in Solingen.
