This is a list of weapons in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. They are listed in the order they appear in the menu if sorted by type.
Weapons in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth boost the
Attack Power and
Magic Attack of the user when equipped, have a number of materia slots, and an associated weapon ability that the party member can use while equipping it, and learn permanently. New to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth are weapon skills, of which a certain number of weapon skills are unlocked.
Weapons are upgraded by gaining SP. Unlike with folios, where SP is spent on unlocking skill cores, SP for weapons is additive and obtaining enough SP will upgrade the weapon. This will improve the weapon's stat boosts, unlock a new weapon skill, and possibly unlock more materia slots and an additional weapon skill slot. Fully leveled up, all weapons will have the same number of materia slots, but their growth before this point differs.
Rebirth differs from the weapons in Final Fantasy VII Remake, in which each weapon had different unlockable abilities. The weapon upgrade system in Rebirth has been split between the folios, which apply to the party member not the weapon equipped, and the weapon skills. This means the weapons still have variance, but alter to the playstyle of the party member less than they did in Remake.
Abilities
Weapon abilities
Each weapon in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has an ability attached that can be used while the weapon is equipped. Using this weapon ability repeatedly increases its proficiency, and once maxed, the party member learns the ability permanently, and can use it regardless of their equipped weapon.
Weapon skills
Weapons have a certain number of skill slots to which a weapon skill can be assigned. These come in different forms, noted by their color:
- Blue stat boosts, such as a boost to max HP.
- Red offensive boosts, such as a damage boost from certain types of attacks.
- Green defensive boosts, such as boosts to heals or ATB recovery.
- Yellow unique boosts, which have a variety of effects.
As a weapon levels up, it will gain new weapon skills, and increase its number of weapon skill slots, up to a maximum of four.
Upgrading
Weapons are upgraded by earning SP. Unlike SP spent on folios, this SP is additive, and simply earning it will put points towards the weapon's next level up.
SP is earned in a variety of ways. The most basic way to earn SP is through increasing the party member's level, which will gain that party member 5 SP. The remaining SP available are earned by finding manuscripts.
Manuscripts are earned typically in Odd Jobs, or bought in moogle emporiums. More manuscripts are obtained upon defeating bosses when replaying the game in hard mode, meaning completing the game in hard mode is a requirement to fully unlock all cores in a party member's folio.

Behind the scenes
Icons exist in data for both Cid Highwind and Vincent Valentine's spears and guns respectively, despite them not being playable. Icons also exist for Zack and Sephiroth's broadswords and katana, respectively.
