Monk facts
Something else to add to your list: in some Final Fantasies, attacking bare-fisted allows characters to ignore enemies' defense. Master Conjurer 02:16, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Anyone else with suggestions please leave here. TheMasterFighter 02:28, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
I'm kinda with your liking to monks. Mostly because they save you a ton of money for weapons (and sometimes, armor),not to mention, they're really unique.:) | |||
Doing polls
In a half-hearted attempt to get more people to visit my page, I've started up a poll of my own. Talk about it here and please contribute in this and other subjects you may be interested in. I will also add more poll questions in the future to keep things going. Thank you. TheMasterFighter 02:50, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
- Cleaned up my page and deleted polls due to inactivity. TheMasterFighter 23:19, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Suggestions welome
I've added some new sections to my userpage, and if anyone has anything, and I mean ANYTHING to add, please feel free to leave a message. TheMasterFighter 00:19, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Completions
Master Conjurer — (talk) 00:46, 4 May 2009 (UTC) | |||
I see you've beaten I-V. Can I assume you're playing VI now? Or perhaps you've switched to a newer title? | |||
- Not at this time. I'm actually buying and going through each FF for the first time and have yet to purchase VI. I hope I may get VI and VII at the same time for my upcoming birthday. The only FF game I've played before starting this "quest" was FFVI when it was III on SNES. And even then I was too young to effectively play it. TheMasterFighter 00:50, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
- I'm on the same quest! I had already beaten X-XII before I started it, but since I have I've gotten up to V. I show where I am here. Master Conjurer 00:56, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
- Congrats! What type of jobs are you planning on using for each character? TheMasterFighter 01:00, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
- Right now I use a Knight, Monk, White Mage, and Thief. I'm planning to use a Bare and three Mimes to finish it, though, whenever I happen to get around to playing it. Master Conjurer 01:04, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
- If you want to win the cheap way: plan to master some Red Mages for Dualcast, at least one Samurai for Zeniage, a White Mage, and a Summoner. Put them together in a specific way and make everyone a Mime. Dualcast Haste+another buff, then immediately dualcast Bahamut+Bahamut. Have everyone Mime that action for massive demon-tree owning. I recommended Zeniage because somebody might need to heal and it will act as a bumper between miming the white magic and dualcast Bahamuts or using any eithers/elixers. But that's just me. ^_^ TheMasterFighter 01:08, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

My plan was this:
| character | class | abilities |
|---|---|---|
| Bartz | Bare | $Toss, !Mix |
| Reina | Mime | Redx2, !White (Level 6), !Time (Level 6) |
| Faris | Mime | $Toss, Summon, Item |
| Krile | Mime | Redx2, !Black, !Blue |
Master Conjurer 01:18, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
- Well that's good right there, but if you're not particular on what Bartz is equipped with (Armor wise) or if you plan on not using many items, then it's that much better to gain that extra slot with Mime. Otherwise, you'll do fine. TheMasterFighter 01:22, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Not bad, But do you have enough mix ingredients? And if so, do you know what they do? if not, you might want to go with something else. I killed neoexdeath with a setup fairly similar to this, though, I even mastered mime (which was a BITCH to do.). Good luck killing the master of the void. Exdeath64 04:42, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
"Monk" hero
I noticed you said you were interested in a game with a lead character as a "monk." (I use quotation marks because I dislike the overuse of the term "monk" to describe all brawlers, but that isn't important.) If you have a PS2, might I suggest Namco's Tales of Legendia. The main hero, Senel, is a fist fighter (though he does equip gloves). | |||
Thanks, but I'm more concerned on the FF-type and terms. | |||
How do I...
Make my custom userboxes commercial so anyone can use them? Does one need special permission to have them coded or what? TheMasterFighter 03:49, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- Anybody can just copy them off your page if they want to. If you insist, though, you could make a subpage out of one of them and advertise it like a template. To do that, you'd go to a nonexistent subpage, like User:TheMasterFighter/Omega, then paste the code for the user personal userbox into the new page. Then, typing this will create the userbox:
{{User:TheMasterFighter/Omega}}- Master Conjurer 04:08, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- And that same code in the grey box is what's needed for others to copy/paste? TheMasterFighter 04:15, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- It would be if that was the subpage you used. If you use a word other than Omega, just put that word after the slash. Master Conjurer 04:19, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks a bunch. TheMasterFighter 04:22, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Crap, I did it wrong. I accidentally made THIS page. Is there a way to delete it or something and redo? TheMasterFighter 04:26, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- I moved it for you. It's now at User:TheMasterFighter/Omega. If you ever do something like that again, you can move pages to a new name. Click the "move" tab at the top of a page to do it. --Gamer2127 04:30, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
Greetings
Ah FINALLY, another wikiogre (nice userbox, by the way). Man this place is so full of Knights, Dragons and Gnomes it gets a bit stuffy from time to time. Anyway, I could not help but notice your dilemma about finding a FF style game with a monk lead. I do not believe there is one, or at lease one that is easy to find. But, if you REALLY want one, why not make your own? It is surprisingly easy these days. i don't know if your skills could pull this off, but if you wish to pursue this path, I can recommend a few things.
1. PK hack- A program for hacking "Earthbound" (think wacky, psychic dragon-quest with the PK kid from smash bros), allows you to generate a game based on their system through hacking the living hell out of the ROM, you then run it on a SNES emulator. You can do pretty much anything with it if you know how to edit sprites. Go to www.starmen.net to grab a copy.
2. Any generation of RPG maker- Simple user inter-phase with a damn good map editor, I toyed around with it a bit, but never really made anything worthwhile with it. If you want to see an example of this, google Final Fantasy: Endless Nova. Just type it into google to find the download.
these are just examples, there are entire sites dedicated to amateur game creation. I even download a few and screw with them on a regular basis. If you do choose this path though...get me a link to a copy...hey, games are spendy and amateur ones are free.Exdeath64 04:40, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- RPG makers need money, right? Anyways, take a look at my dream Final Fantasy game section. Infact, I'm currently compiling a bunch of FF information and wanting to make a more "classic" Final Fantasy world, most like FFIV but is detailed in the heroes with FFXI. See, FFXI got it right with MMO, but it won't get people who can't play MMO's for their life like me. And as for the Monk main character? Already got him down as my internet alias and he's constantly evolving. But the setting for my FF idea is really going back to it's roots, unlike anything after VI which is steampunk/techno. TheMasterFighter 05:08, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- You ain't been online long, have you? ANYTHING can be found for free, they don't cost a thing. Though rom downloading is TECHNICALLY illegal, I see no problem with just hacking it into something else, but to each their own. And I shall look at that one. Exdeath64 05:42, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- Any suggestions for ANY of my contents are accepted, so don't be afraid to suggest something. TheMasterFighter 06:27, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

My request for those familiar with video splicing and audio sync...
I've had the greatest idea ever. Does anyone recall the Pokemon song "Double Trouble" featuring Team Rocket's Jessie and James? I would love to see that, but with video depicting James as Sephiroth and Jessie as Ultimecia in a music video using Dissidia's cutscenes. (Bonus points for Chaos as "the boss" Giovanni) TheMasterFighter 04:01, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
Here's what you need to do
1. Make it
2. Create a forum thread about it
3. Create an insanely detailed article about it.
4. Get a cult following (If that damn Tim Burton movie about a singing skeleton can pull it of, you should be able to. Try using urban dictionary or other "geek" sites)
5. Watch every admin facepalm or if it is a particularly anal one, their head may explode. I think that happened to the guy who founded the wiki.
Screwing around aside, it may be interesting, but not something I am interested in (By the way, Adobe has an excellent video editor.) really paying much attention to, but from what I have seen in the community, many users would probably find it to be hilarious. (If you cannot tell, the head explosion thing was a joke, so please do not flip out if you have read this and actually remember the guy who started the wiki.). If you want the sound track, you can look it up on youtube, copy the URL, go to www.air-proxy.com. it will prompt you for a URL, paste it in and it will take you back with one key difference, the ability to download the video, then just use your editing program to rip the sound from it and do with it as you see fit. You might want to ask permission of the person who created the video. Exdeath64 05:24, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
FINALLY!
I've ordered Final Fantasy VI and VII for my birthday on Amazon! FFVI will come first as FFVII is going through standard shipping. The FFVI will be the Advance version, factory sealed and FFVII is the cheapest "used" one with the least wear and tear. Wish me luck on FFVII's condition and HUZZAH! TheMasterFighter 03:11, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
- Viel Glück. Master Conjurer 03:12, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you ^_^ TheMasterFighter 03:17, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Day 1 of waiting = Still didn't do anything to get a job. Played Smash Bros Brawl and a game of Starfox 64. Either both have shipped today or tomorrow. Updates when I get them. Now I'm off to lurk any FF6 info here. TheMasterFighter 00:47, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
- Day 2 = Both games had to have been shipped today. Arrival date of FFVI is between May 13th and 20th, hopefully before my birthday on the 15th. Played more Smash Bros Brawl. Went to college counselor to check on status of grades, classes, etc. and everything seems to be doing fine. Voted for the mayoral election. To help cope with impatience, I've started a new file on FF1 with a Red Mage, two Monks, and a White Mage. Seriously considering making a page with my progress of FF games 1-5 since I've already made one in Word. Any suggestions for dinner before I go? I'm seriously considering Wendy's anyway. TheMasterFighter 00:27, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
- You could just show your progress in the games on your user page. That way, anybody with you on their watchlist would notice changes. (It's what I do.) Master Conjurer 00:34, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
- Alright. Mine are more like what my final levels, equipment, and time when I beat the game, but I'll do that when I can. Now, to get some foods. TheMasterFighter 00:38, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
- I swear, they must put crack on Wendy's burgers to make them so addictive...so, considering what I'd put down for my completion status (levels, equip, etc.), should I put it on my userpage or make a clean separate page?
- It really depends on the game. For FFI, maybe location or latest boss beaten. When I was playing that one, I kept a couple of sentences in paragraph form to explain exactly what I'd last done. That took more upkeep than I'd like, though. Master Conjurer 03:26, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
- Let me say this once more: I'm only posting mine when I beat the game and the status of the characters when I beat said game. So no in-the-middle stuff. TheMasterFighter 03:48, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
- I must not have caught it last time. Anywho, if the completion userboxes aren't enough, some people have sections for their "best saves," which I can only assume are parties they beat the game with. An example is AuronKaizer. Master Conjurer 04:09, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Day 3 = The weirdest **** happened. Final Fantasy VII, which was on standard shipping (7-10 days) arrived today. The package was crappily taped and looked like a bomb-package but the game itself was in good shape. All 3 disks were free from noticeable scratches, manual intact, and the case itself looked as bad as one would expect it to be from being release-date old. Now this next comment will make some users twitch: I'm still saving myself to play FFVI first. *holds up Aegis Shield* Other than that, today was uneventful as I spent some time playing StarFox Assault and STILL not doing anything for a job other than getting a phone number for corporate on a grocery store. TheMasterFighter 02:14, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- Day 4 = ....getting desperate. A package arrived........which was my dad's medicine. -_- Other than that, nothing special happened today other than going to the pool hall and my favorite pinball game there got broke.TheMasterFighter 03:45, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Day 5 = My Birthday. I would've been fine if mail came and there wasn't a package, but NO mail came making me wait by the mailbox for about an hour after my b-day festivities. Bleh. TheMasterFighter 02:03, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
- Day 6 = Alright, if I order expedited shipping, why do I STILL not have it within a week when I get something off of STANDARD SHIPPING IN ONE DAY?! TheMasterFighter 00:11, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
- It's time to start planning your bad review of that seller. Expedited is only 1-3 days, if I recall. Master Conjurer 00:17, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
- Amazon gave me till the 20th. The seller apparently has a great rating and lots of praise on speedy delivery, but I'm still giving a less-than-great review. Also, I'd be less pissed if I didn't get FFVII first...and not had it standard. TheMasterFighter 00:25, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

Day 7 = Sunday. No mail. Nothing else. Thought you ought to know :D TheMasterFighter 02:47, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- Alright, I can't think of any excuse for the game NOT to be in my hands right now. I'm thinking of contacting the seller via e-mail about this but I don't know how to put it. Any suggestions? TheMasterFighter 20:55, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
Are you certain they cannot do such things?
<joke> oh come on, if one of those can tame enkidu for gilgamesh (sumarian epic, not the 6 armed guy from FFV), why can't they revive the dead? <?joke> Exdeath64 19:32, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, the story behind that was a friend and I were having some fun IMing. During it she "revived" me from death. Later on, she mentioned "I feel like a prostitute" and I responded with "Prostitutes cannot revive the dead." So that's where I got it from. ^_^ TheMasterFighter 19:36, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
Happy Birthday to me!
20 years old todeh! When I say "UH!" you say "AW YEAH!" UH!TheMasterFighter 05:05, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

About my FFVI order...(for those following it)
I just received an email from the seller of the game saying he mailed it to the wrong address and will take a few more days to get to me. Rage sequence commencing (no Gau pun intended). TheMasterFighter 21:02, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
- That sucks, will you get anything from him as an apology? Armageddon11!
21:07, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
- Dunno. I told him in such a way that I want the shipping costs taken back and as a trade-off, I asked for overnight shipping. He DID request taking back the entire order, but it's on my dad's money (as a birthday gift) so it was his decision on that particular matter. TheMasterFighter 21:09, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
- Looks like you got your explanation. I hope the "wrong address" didn't belong to an FF fan (or Gau). Master Conjurer 21:45, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
- Exactly. Do you suggest that I get a "different" Final Fantasy VI to tide my cravings? TheMasterFighter 22:49, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
- If the first is already coming, I think you should let it. I don't think any hobby shops are carrying it at the moment, so waiting for it to ship in some form may be your only option. Master Conjurer 22:58, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
- No, I put "different" in quotes because I don't know the rules concerning emulation >_>. TheMasterFighter 23:00, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Seriously considering just canceling the order and getting a full refund while ordering another one...HELL, I could be at the WoR by now at least! e_e TheMasterFighter 04:16, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
Ever think of a GOOD Final Fantasy movie?
I always think there should be a movie or trilogy based on Final Fantasy I and expanding it a bit more. The best part about this is that there isn't just a random movie you'd slap the FF name onto and it's actually the game that's transferred. What do y'all think? TheMasterFighter 02:50, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
- I think one should earn the right to see the story by beating the game. (Please excuse the bluntness.) Master Conjurer 03:19, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
- Umm....so why make any movie based on any book/game in the first place instead of reading/playing it? There should be no Harry Potter movies since I should earn the right to see the story by reading the book. Advent Children should've been a fourth disc since it spoils everything on Final Fantasy VII. TheMasterFighter 03:22, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
Some updates on mah life.
Just got done sending a claim to Amazon about my FFVI order and placing a new one for me. Hopefully it will get here in enough time for me to enjoy before summer semester. Also, due to my frustration, I've started an account on Free Realms (MMO) and am sadly very hooked. Still no job yet (****) but I'm doing the calling thing and hopefully *crosses fingers* will get one soon....*sigh* TheMasterFighter 02:17, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
GOT FFVI AT LAST!!
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa~y! Oh, and right now I'm at Zozo. My general levels are around 14, is that good enough? TheMasterFighter 00:26, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, and a note: I got the Chainsaw completely by random. I switched the clock in the "Inn" just using a random guess at the times and got it right. XD TheMasterFighter 00:33, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
Congrats. | |||
...Wasn't the Celes/Cid exchange in the WoR a little.....creepy to anyone else? TheMasterFighter 07:36, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
FFVI Quesions.
- Any hints on equipment/levels/characters for Coliseum? I already know what I'm going to be going for but I think any hints for Miracle Shoes or anything else would do nothing but help. I found that Sabin is my best bet as a character, but are there any objections?
- Is it bad that I have Sabin as my highest leveled/over-powered character? I mean, yeah, I'm a monk fanatic, but I'm just wondering if it's worth it in the last 1% of the game (i.e. Kefka's Tower and Dragon's Den) and would giving him Genji Glove + Master's Scroll be that more advantageous?
- Is Ultima really worth giving everyone to spam? I'm only thinking of handing it to just Terra and maybe Celes. Also, does having a Ragnarok esper and Paladin's Shield double the speed of Ultima's learn rate?
TheMasterFighter 02:59, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
- Your best bet for questions like this is The Dollet Hotel. Users who can help tend to watch that forum. Master Conjurer 06:48, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll do so. TheMasterFighter 01:08, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
Gunna get FFVIII soon...
Any suggestions on what to do to expertly play? Nothing big, just tell me what kind of status ailments I should look out for, GFs are worth getting, etc. TheMasterFighter 02:53, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
