Welcome to the Battle Square!!

The arena is currently Closed.
Now, I wish I could tell you guys I had a good reason for doing this. Like, a family emergency or interest isn't what it was or yadda yadda. But that would be a lie, and I'm not going to lie to you. So here's how it actually is. Week in and week out, I find myself dreading update time far more often than I am looking forward to it. It's tedious and annoying, and the whole "niche" thing isn't going nearly as well as I had originally hoped. So, yes, the arena is pretty much closed for now. It's not necessarily a permanent thing, though; I may find the time and will to start updating this thing again sooner or later. Who knows? But for now, no new fights are incoming in the Battle Square. Thanks for your patronage.

The Fight

Black Waltz No. 2 Week 52!! Rapps
This guy is probably the coolest looking of the Black Waltzes, probably because his feet never touch the floor. Actually... does he even have feet? I don't think he does! For some reason, this makes him look less cool in my eyes. Not sure why. Winner:

You know, the funny thing about the materia interlude is that when I grind to an exceptionally high amount, the game lets me keep some of my materia, which always struck me as sort of queer. Did I simply have too much materia for Yuffie to take after mastering a bunch and leaving baby materia everywhere? OR did the game just give up and go home after trying to rein in my insatiable grinding? I like to think it's the latter.

VS
I am staggered by the staggering competence of these staggeringly competent enemies. FIGHT!

Votes for the Mage-y Thing

  1. Rapps is only remotely challenging because you're handicapped. BW2 is more a threat on his own merits -- Sorceror Nobody Flan 16:09, November 6, 2011 (UTC)
  2. If this vote surprises you, you clearly don't know me. MirrorshardSceada 16:19, November 6, 2011 (UTC)

  2. Voting for the other monster seems to be mainstream...:-D Nah, just kidding! Well, For sure, the other one looks better and everything, but I just find it a bit astounding to give the good old Black Mage's design to a mere monster... sounds like VENOMFANG WHITEMAGES for me... --Lonely Wild Rose Rose 08:30, December 12, 2011 (UTC)
  3. Hoping I can still vote. BlitzballArtTidus357 01:09, June 21, 2012 (UTC)

The Grandstands

Here we have two competent bosses of two incompetent villains. Both of these are usually a pretty big difficulty spike from the monsters that came before them, but to be fair, they're usually fought with minimal random encounters before them. Jimcloud 15:07, November 6, 2011 (UTC)

Aps Week 53!! Black Waltz No. 3
What IS this guy even supposed to be? I don't know! I've never seen anything even vaguely resembling him. Maybe he's like the Sewer Sasquatch or something. Sewersquatch? No, that sounds stupid. Winner:

SOMEONE woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning!

I am staggred by the staggering incompetence of these staggeringly incompetent enemies... and no, I'm not feeling lazy today, why do you ask? FIGHT already!

Votes for the Weird-y Thing

Votes for the Mage-y Thing

  1. Would it be weird to say I kind of feel sorry for him? Also, some story relevance, whereas Apps is a perfect example of a boss for boss's sake -- Sorceror Nobody Flan 16:10, November 6, 2011 (UTC)
  2. If this vote surprises you, you clearly don't know me. Also, in his first battle, he was a great boss, and to top it, he's got real devotion to his job. MirrorshardSceada 16:21, November 6, 2011 (UTC)

The Grandstands

...And on the flip side of things, we have two incompetent bosses of two incompetent villains. These two will actually damage themselves in the pursuit of their missions. Jimcloud 15:07, November 6, 2011 (UTC)

Last week's fight's winner was Bahamut (9-6)
