Pointless is a rare status in Final Fantasy X-2 that causes the afflicted character to not receive EXP or AP during or after battle. It does not wear off after the battle. The afflicted will start flashing slowly. It cannot affect enemies, as enemies do not level up, and only two enemies in the game can give the status to the player.
Abilities
The player does not gain access to any abilities that inflict Pointless, apart from the support ability Nitro Black Magic from the Minerva's Plate, which puts the user into permanent Pointless.

Auto effects supersede proof abilities and even Ribbon, so if the player wears the Minerva's Plate they cannot dispel the Pointless effect it comes with.
