Mythril Gun from FFT TIC

The mythril gun is a low-ranked gun that provides 8 attack and 5% weapon defense. It can be bought for 15,000 gil at Goug after the events at the Royal City of Lesalia in chapter 3, rarely (⅛ chance) poached from a Revenant, found as rare treasure in the Walled City of Yardrow and the Mining Town of Gollund during "Secrets Beneath Goug" sidequest there (these are all one-off battles), and earned as a trophy from the story battle at Grogh Heights (in this battle, an enemy chemist also has a mythril gun that the player can steal). There is also a rare random encounter against gun-wielding enemies at Mount Germinas that can happen when entering the area from the north, where the enemies may be equipped with various guns, the mythril gun included.

Etymology

The word "mythril" or "mithril" is a metal found in many fantasy worlds. It was originally introduced by the fantasy writings of J. R. R. Tolkien, being present in his Middle-earth. It resembles silver but is stronger than steel, and much lighter in weight than either. The author first wrote of it in The Lord of the Rings, and it is retrospectively mentioned in the third, revised edition of The Hobbit in 1966. In the first 1937 edition, the mail shirt given to Bilbo is described as being made of "silvered steel". The name mithril comes from two words in Sindarin—mith, meaning "gray" or "mist", and ril meaning "glitter".
