"Worlds Collide"

"Worlds Collide" (衝突する世界, Shōtotsusuru Sekai?) is a boss theme from Final Fantasy XIII-2 and is also used in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.

It was composed and arranged by Naoshi Mizuta with vocals by David Whitaker who also wrote the lyrics. The game's soundtrack album uses a version of the theme that is different from the one featured in game, with slightly altered instrumentation and cleaner sounding vocals.

The theme plays during Serah and Noel's battle in the Bresha Ruins with Paradox Alpha in 5 AF, the battle with Aloeidai in the Yaschas Massif in 10 AF, and also during the battle with Kalavinka in Bresha Ruins 100 AF.

It is the 20th track of disc 1 on the Final Fantasy XIII-2: Original Soundtrack.

"Worlds Collide" references several gameplay and story elements of Final Fantasy XIII-2, including Time Gates, the Heart of Chaos, and paradoxes and resolving them.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII

"Worlds Collide" plays in the battle against Zaltys Brimstone at the Slaughterhouse and for random encounters in certain areas in Yusnaan.

Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia

"Worlds Collide" plays in battles involving Serah during Arc 1 Chapter 9 and later. Most of the time, it serves as the boss theme for the last wave of curtain battles.
