Four of these combine to form a single adversary. This foe shouldn't be a problem for a strong party.
Final Fantasy VI PlayStation Bestiary entry
The Vector Lythos, also known as the Vectaur, is an enemy in Final Fantasy VI. It is one of the weakest enemies in Kefka's Tower and only appears in exterior areas of this dungeon. It also appears in Dragons' Den in the versions that include it.
Stats
Battle
At times it will appear to attack alone, but will in fact attack in groups of four, with the four sprites overlaid over each other so only one appears on the screen. They are not very dangerous, and are vulnerable to
Ice- and
Water-elemental spells like Blizzaga and Flood.
If they are fought with a Great Behemoth and a Great Malboro, the Vector Lythos should be killed last, as the Great Malboro uses Bad Breath if it is left alone.
Coliseum setup
The only thing to note is that Vector Lythos's
Petrify vulnerability cannot be exploited with Stoneblade, since it also has death protection that makes it immune to Break. Aside from this, it is easily beaten.

Etymology
Kefka's Tower was built atop Vector, the Gestahlian Empire's former seat of power, and thus some enemies allude to it with their names. In molecular cloning, a vector is a DNA molecule used as a vehicle to artificially carry foreign genetic material into another cell, where it can be replicated and/or expressed. A vector containing foreign DNA is termed recombinant DNA.
