The Mu is an enemy from Final Fantasy IX. It can be found in the lower level of the the Mist Continent near to Evil Forest, and on the plateaus above near Dali. A friendly Mu can also be encountered as part of the friendly monsters side quest, near to Dali. It is likely the first friendly monster the player will encounter, and will reward the party with 10 AP if given an Ore.

A more powerful version of the Mu can also be fought during the Festival of the Hunt in Lindblum. Instead of gil and EXP, these encounters give Hunting Points to determine whether Zidane Tribal will win the hunt.

Graffiti artwork of Mus can be seen throughout Solution Nine. As with the other graffiti seen in the city, they were drawn by Arcadion fighter Sugar Riot or her followers.

A FATE boss known as Mica the Magical Mu can spawn as part of the Mascot Murder FATE in Living Memory. It is a mechanical mascot created for entertaining audiences, but has fallen into disrepair and its programming has become erratic. Players who clear this FATE can earn items used to earn rewards, including a suit based on the boss.

Friendly Mus appear as adds summoned by Sugar Riot in AAC Cruiserweight M2 (Savage).
