An avian creature covered in scales as opposed to feathers. It lives in forested regions, acting as a guardian that keeps intruders at bay.
Enemy Intel
Levridon is an enemy in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, encountered in the Gongaga Region as part of the odd job "O Chicken, Where Art Thou". After finding and retrieving Khazra's chickens in the village, Red XIII leads the party outside to find Pippily, the last chicken, that wandered off. The Levridon will appear once Cloud starts baiting Pippily back with the feed clanger.
Stats
Battle
The Levridon is an unique and more powerful variant of the Levrikon. It's a violent avian beast that can imbue itself with
Lightning; many of its attacks can inflict
Stun.
The creature attacks primarily with lunging attack where it swipes twice with its claw, as well Tail Slash, where it spins twice, dealing high damage to enemies around it. Unlike its counterparts, the Levridon won't pull rocks to throw and block attacks, but it'll sometimes turn around and dig the ground, throwing dirt at the opponents.
As the battle progresses, the Levridon becomes naturally pressured, but if left unchecked it'll use Amp Up, empowering itself. The creature then becomes more aggressive, and will periodically use Electric Discharge, roaring and blasting electricity around it, dealing massive
Lightning damage in a large radius around it, and possibly inflicting
Stun.
Among its other powerful attacks is Flying Stomp, where it leaps high in the air and slams down on the ground, knocking characters up unless blocked. It can also use Looping Strike, where it does a quick jump forward and hits the opponent with its tail. Both attacks can inflict
Stun.
The Levridon is weak against
Ice and immune to
Lightning.
Strategy
The Levridon is a very aggressive and durable creature, but relatively easy to deal with. Keeping the offensive is key to prevent or cancel Amp Up by staggering it quickly once it becomes pressured; exploiting its elemental weakness is the most effective way.
All the creature's attacks are physical and can be blocked, meaning that Cloud's counter while in Punisher Mode is highly effective, especially if his weapon has a
Ice Materia paired with
Elemental Materia.
On Hard Mode, the Levridon is even more aggressive and can use Amp Up much earlier during the battle. Defeating it for the first time in Hard Mode as part of the odd job rewards Red XIII's Tale of the Red Warrior Vol. XI.
