Kid G is a minor character in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
History
Kid G is a friendly goblin who earned the respect of the cactuar in the Corel region, and was tasked to protect a legendary protorelic that was split into four parts. When Cloud Strife and his group broke the seal on one of Gold Saucer's mako reactors that was taken over by the cactuar, they were greeted by Kid G. In order for them to claim the treasure that he guarded, they had to complete the trials he provided by defeating different types of cactuar. Yuffie Kisaragi and Aerith Gainsborough completed two separate trials easily, leaving Kid G to come up with more challenging trials for them at a later time.
With Chadley's help, Kid G contacted Cloud upon his return to the Corel region, informing him that the new trials were ready. When they entered the third mako reactor, the group found Don Corneo, Scotch, and Kotch attempting and failing to claim a fragment of the treasure. After Yuffie and Aerith completed the last set of trials, Kid G combined the fragments into the treasure. When Kid G requested a favor from them, Don Corneo and his henchmen returned to take the treasure by force, but were interrupted by a large sand giant, claiming that the treasure belonged to him alone. Kid G commanded his cactuar to destroy the sand giant, who attacked in conjunction with a barrage of needles.
Don Corneo again attempted to claim the treasure, only for Kid G to punch him and his henchmen. Once they had retreated, Kid G made his request to Cloud and his group to challenge the "Bladesmen of Legend" to a sparring match. Cloud and his group defeated Kid G, and he rewarded them the treasure. Kid G departed to find a new "fairy tale", voicing his hope to have a rematch again someday with the Bladesmen of Legend.
Behind the scenes
Kid G is modeled after the concept art made for the Goblin enemy in Final Fantasy VII.
An illustration of Kid G appears on the cover of the 7th edition of the serialized comic book Cactuar King. This magazine, held by a woman in Kalm, foreshadows Kid G's relationship with the cactuar.
