The Goon is an enemy in Final Fantasy X-2. He is a member of Leblanc Syndicate, the Gullwings' rival sphere hunting organization. Goons are met right at the beginning of the game, which can still be considered tutorial areas, and so are one of the weakest enemies in the game. Simple physical attacks will bring them down with no problem.
Stats
Creature Creator
Goon can join the party via a Trap pod S in Guadosalam in Chapter 1.
Goon improves well in terms of Strength, Defense, and Agility but develops poorly in the areas of Magic and Magic Defense. Dedicated grinding with Goon learns two of the Alchemist's unique abilities like Phoenix Down and Elixir, while using a Phoenix Down or any revivification ability on him at Level 10 and Restoration items at level 40, respectively. Both abilities don't cost items from the player's own inventory.
Fiend Tale
One notable "Goon", caught via the Creature Creator system in the International and HD Remaster versions, is named Red and had aspirations of being a hero before finally deciding to act on them. A month later, joined by Black and Blue to make a living as street performers, Red achieves his dream when a trio date with the female Goons and Purple, forming a team of self-stylized superheroes.

Etymology
Goon is a pejorative noun used to term lackeys and help of unsavory sorts, akin to thug or flunky. It derived from the word "gooney", which refers to something or someone silly, foolish, and awkward, and was popularized with the famous E.C. Segar comic serial Popeye, where goons were a race of giant barbaric brutes who served the villainous Sea Hag.
