Final Fantasy XIII Series: Flash of Destiny was an event in Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis. This event initially ran from October 29 to November 27, 2025, and was a collaboration with the Lightning Saga subseries.
Synopsis
Occasionally, the lifestream gains the power to bridge the space between dimensions, carrying the memories and inhabitants of the planes that become linked by it. On one such day as this phenomenon occurs, the woman known only as Lightning has mysteriously made her appearance on the Planet with naught but her name and a vision of fighting our heroes in hopes of returning to her homeworld for good. Meeting up in a facsimile of Nibelheim, Lightning engages Cloud and the gang and is quickly subdued. Wounded, she is escorted to the Shinra Manor to recover. Even so, Lightning insists that she fight and defeat the party.
After her recovery, Lightning remains adamant that she continues to duel with the party as the others try to formulate a plan to fulfill her request without anyone coming to harm. Lightning surmises that she is being manipulated by the unseen forces of the planet, just as she was on Cocoon and Gran Pulse; and so, after further discussion, the party agrees to a final duel, the outcome of which is never seen. Having satisfied her invisible requestors, a portal opens for Lightning and all agree to part ways.
Escalation Challenge
An Escalation Challenge with 20 levels and co-op play versus Lightning was also available. The Reawakened event increased the overall difficulty of the challenge.
Event rewards
Players dueled with Lightning to pick up Lightning's Capes, Rose Petals, and White Chocobo Feathers for use in the exchanges. Featured were Lightning's Sword for Angeal, Blizzard (Cross) series materia recipes, Overspeed memory shards, and materials for the new Enemy Ability "Army of One". Players also had the opportunity to complete a memoria of Lightning to provide enhancements to Ice attacks. Additional missions and quests were available as part of the broader campaign, including bingo cards for an exclusive wallpaper, stickers, and Snow Style for Glenn. A later board was added with more stickers and a chocobo styled as the Angel of Valhalla.
Special Event rewards
In X (formerly Twitter) FINAL FANTASY VII EVER CRISIS_EN account, they released special Wallpapers for Phone & PC for the FF13 collaboration event. The first wallpapers featured Tifa & Aerith, the second wallpapers featured Cloud & Lightning, and the last wallpapers featured Sephiroth & Glenn.
Featured draws
This event featured a multi-volume Stamp Card draw. Volume 1 allowed both Tifa and Aerith to dress as Lightning, the latter's gloves and a staff themed after the Blazefire Saber. Volume 2 featured Equilibrium gear for Cloud to also dress as Lightning along with its matching sword Crimson Blitz as a greatsword and a weapon called Snow's Bardiche for Glenn to match his gear. Volume 3 featured the Knight of Etro and matching Overture ninjatō for Sephiroth. These exclusive weapons and gear cannot be obtained in other draws or missions outside of the event period. All draws for the month of November 2025 also offered Cid's premium Venus Gospel spear. The Reawakened version condensed all prior banners into one and made the gear selectable via voucher, also replacing the Venus Gospel with April 2026's Metsumato for Sephiroth. Guild Battle #22 also debuted during the reissue, adding new gear for Glenn called Garish Hakama.
