Diffractive Laser is an enemy ability used by Spitfire, Armored Weapon, Io, Air Force, Laser Gun, Guardian, and Machine. It deals Lightning-elemental damage to all enemies with a Spell Power of 62 and a Hit Rate of 150 at the cost of 20 MP. It is vulnerable to Runic and silence.

Final Fantasy XIV

Diffractive Laser is an enemy ability used by several enemies. Its effects vary depending on the enemy using it. The Ultima Weapon's Diffractive Laser is a hard-hitting frontal cone, while those used by Armored Weapons are targeted AoEs.

Etymology

Diffraction refers to various phenomena that occur when a wave encounters an obstacle or a slit. It is defined as the bending of waves around the corners of an obstacle or aperture into the region of geometrical shadow of the obstacle.
