The Apanda (アパンダ, Apanda?), also known as the Reaver or Apprehendr, is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series, first appearing in Final Fantasy V. It typically appears as either a demonic giant or a behemoth.

Final Fantasy V
The Apanda, also known as the Apprehendr, appears as a boss in the library of the Interdimensional Rift. Its appearance and fight pattern are similar to the Byblos, and its fear of Ifrit is shared. It can use the Web, Magic Hammer, Wind Slash, Dischord, and Confuse abilities. It will also counter physical attacks with Protect and magical attacks with Toad, or any attack with Drain. Apanda is one of the few enemies to learn the blue magic Magic Hammer from.
Final Fantasy XII
The Reaver appears as an enemy in the Pharos and the Subterra. It uses powerful physical attacks and area of effect abilities, and can cast Haste on itself.
Final Fantasy XIII-2
The Reaver appears as an enemy in the Archylte Steppe. It mostly uses physical attacks, though can also use Fira. It can switch to a bipedal stance, fully recovering its HP. It can be recruited to the Paradigm Pack as a Commando.
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII
The Reaver returns as an enemy encountered in the Wildlands, Yusnaan, and the Major Routes. It is the only returning member of the behemoth family. The Reaver Ω appears as a Last One in place of the final remaining Reaver when 30 Reavers have been killed.
Final Fantasy XIV

Final Fantasy Tactics
The Reaver is a unique enemy which appears during the battle with Celia, Lettie, Elibidus. It has relatively high strength and average toughness, and uses Bio abilities to inflict a variety of status effects.

The Reaver appears as a member of the behemoth family, and has high HP and high physical damage.

Reaver is an archaic term referring to someone or something that "robs, plunders, or steals".
Apanda is likely supposed to be Greek άπαντα or apanta, meaning "complete works," in reference to how the Apanda's initial appearance in Final Fantasy V emerges from a book.
