Amam is an enemy in Final Fantasy XIII. It is the mark of Cie'th Stone Missions 32 and 36.
Mission
32 - And Then There Was One
| Mark: | Amam | |
| Locale: | Archylte Steppe - Western Benchland | |
| Class: | B |
Fate is not without a sense of irony, it seems. I am commanded to hunt the amam that stalks a pond in the steppe's western benchland—just as the rest of my family were once charged, to their doom. They are Cie'th now, and I alone am left to put an end to the abomination's bloody reign.
I am coming for you creature.
I will have my revenge.
36 - Dark Deliverance
| Mark: | Amam | |
| Locale: | Faultwarrens - A Dance of Shadow | |
| Class: | C |
Souls are wrought of shadow or of light; harmony, of a balance between the two.
Rejoin the harmonious circle. Feed the sharpened fangs of the amam, here at the source of shadow's flow.
Stats
Battle
Amam attacks with Accursed Breath (or a basic attack if all party members are afflicted with a status ailment), six basic attacks on the target with the lowest remaining HP, then uses Storm Conduction. The first time its HP falls below 80%, it uses Storm Conduction once. When below 50% HP, it only uses Storm Conduction.
Accursed Breath deals 611-672 damage in front of it and can inflict Curse (60% for 546 seconds), Pain (60% for 20 seconds) and Fog (30% for 20 seconds). Although physical, it is affected by Fog. Amam's basic attack deals 695-764 damage in front of it, while Storm Conduction deals lightning-elemental damage to all targets (friend or foe) around it and ignores magic resistance; the party takes 1,528-1,680 damage, while enemies take 38,384-39,984 damage and have a 50% chance to remove one status ailment. As the attack is lightning-elemental, Amam itself will be healed.
The party should start in Superiority (SYN/SYN/SAB) paradigm to bestow Protect, Barthunder and Enfrost on the party. Amam should be staggered with Tri-disaster (RAV/RAV/RAV) and dispatched with Aggression (COM/COM/RAV). Pain and Fog should be removed with painkillers and mallets.
